How much olive oil should you actually eat?

We Danes are still cautious with oil. We use it in salads and maybe on bread, but the way we use olive oil in Denmark is far from the way it's used in Southern Europe. And that's a shame. Because good olive oil is not just a flavor enhancer, it's a foundation for a delicious, balanced, and healthy cuisine.

The short answer

To benefit from the taste and properties of olive oil, you should consume 1.5-2 tablespoons a day. This is equivalent to approximately 20 grams . Don't just drizzle a little on a tomato salad, but use it generously in cooking, on bread, over vegetables, and as a dressing. Every day.

Why so much?

There are several good reasons:

  • The flavor becomes deeper, rounder, and more satisfying.

  • The consistency of the food becomes softer and more appealing.
